Rams In the Community: 2019 Holiday Highlights

Published on 12/30/2019
Hey #ASURAMily!! Due to personal obligations and being knocked down with the flu days before Christmas, I missed our last chapter meeting and many great things in the community. I am happy to report that I have been resting and recuperating, preparing myself for an amazing 2020. So many great things happened this year for #ASUDeKalb especially during the holidays. Here is a recap of our #RamsInTheCommunity. During the Thanksgiving holidays, the DeKalb Chapter of Albany State University National Alumni Association partnered with the VFW Post 4706 in Decatur Georgia and provided 26 families Thanksgiving baskets for their dinner, such as, a whole turkey, corn, dressing, macaroni & cheese, black-eye peas, yams, cranberry sauce, green beans and much more. It was an uplifting experience. Thanks to all of the participating Chapter members. Your service was not in vain. We love it.

Below we have pictures of The ASU DeKalb Alumni Chapter as they helped distribute 100s of toys to familes at the OHQ in Decatur.

The holiday season ends with ASU DeKalb blessing 150+ children with Christmas toys. What an amazing feeling to know GOD blessed us with 1300+ toys to give away!!! Thanks to our magnificent Marketing and Communications Chair Lucinda Oneal who shared her vision and led the effort to fulfilling it. Our awesome ASU Ram Family and Supporters showed up at 7:00 a.m to setup and prepare for the GOD blessed event. Thanks to New Horizons Outreach, Inc. and Symphony Crumbs for the donated toys. Thanks to all the Volunteers for making this a success. GOD Bless you!. We love it.! Check out pictures below:

What a wonderful holiday season with ASU DeKalb!! This was an amazing year culminating one of the missions of ASU DeKalb: giving back to the community. Here's to many more moments and productive 2020!!

See you all in 2020!!
