Each year, the Albany State University National Alumni Association DeKalb County Area Alumni Chapter (ASUNAA-DCAA) awards scholarships to DeKalb County and Metro Atlanta high school students who will attend Albany State University. The
ASUNAA-DCAA Chapter is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and has served DeKalb County and the Metro Atlanta area for over 40 years. ASUNAA-DCAA will grant one scholarship up to $3,500.00 based on merit and need. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for qualifying and deserving students to pursue their college education at ASU.
Applications are accepted December 16, 2024, through March 1, 2025. The recipients chosen for the final interview panel will be contacted on or before March 16, 2025. Scholarship payments are transferred to Albany State University on behalf of the student from the DCAA Chapter.
ELIGIBILITY
- DeKalb or Metro Atlanta high school senior enrolling full- time at ASU for the 2025 Fall Semester
- Minimum 2.5 grade point average
- Completed application package must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST, March 1, 2025
- NO EXCEPTIONS. Incomplete, unsigned, or late submissions will not be considered
DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED
- Application form (Completed and Digitally Signed)
- Copy of high school transcript
- Student AID report - only the first page that displays "Expected Family Contribution (EFC)”. (Reference: How do I view my Student Aid Report (SAR)?)
- Two letters of recommendation
- Typed essay (min.250 - max.500 words)
- Business professional headshot photo in color
- ASU Acceptance Letter

- Participation in extra-curricular activities
- Involvement in civic/community activities
- Employment held during school
DEADLINE AND CONTACT INFORMATION: Completed application packages must be submitted by 11:59 pm on March 1, 2025. Incomplete late submissions will not be considered. The recipients chosen for the final interview panel will be contacted on or before March 16, 2025.
DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS: Scholarship awards will be transferred upon confirmation of matriculation at the University. The recipient must notify the Chapter no later April 12, 2025, with final intent to enroll or the Committee will review the needs of the next highest ranked applicant. Relatives of ASUNAA-DCAA Chapter members are NOT eligible to apply; if an award is made to a Chapter member’s relative, the recipient must return the award money in its entirety to the Chapter. Any exception to the above eligibility requirements will be based upon Chapter recommendations.
