The DeKalb County Area Alumni Chapter is honored to open applications for the inaugural Henry L. Coleman Legacy Scholarship. As we offer this $1,500 award, we take a moment to remember Henry L. Coleman not only as someone we cherished, but as a pillar of service in our community.

Henry L. Coleman was a devout Albany State Alum whose Golden Ram pride ran deep. As a dedicated member of the DeKalb Chapter, he lived the mission of ASU every day, always reaching back to pull the next generation forward. This annual scholarship is our way of ensuring that Henry L. Coleman's legacy of unwavering passion for education and mentorship, combined with his love for his "Unsinkable" Alma Mater, continues to shine through in the generations of young men who will follow in his footsteps.

🌟 Spotlight on a Legend: Ms. Ruby Dean Hall Crews

• A True Pioneer: A 1958 Business Education graduate, Ms. Ruby has watched the Golden Rams take the field at every Homecoming since her graduation!
• Community Impact: During her 33-year tenure at the historic Booker T. Washington High School, she hosted world leaders like Rosa Parks, Jimmy Carter, and Desmond Tutu.
• Aggressive Advocate: She initiated the High School Visitation Program, bringing thousands of Metro-Atlanta students to the ASU campus.
• Generous Heart: A member of the ASU Hall of Fame who has personally contributed $1,000 annually to the Golden Ram Cheerleaders for over a decade.
